Because of the complexity of structure and properties of coal, the coal mining p-rocess in mechanical cutting process become more complex, and shearer cutting performance in reliability and stability, production efficiency, power consumption, life of bitof running machine, and the coal crushing rate has direct influence. Therefore, manyscholars by mechanical analysis, experimental study, finite element method, the researches on cutting performance of shearer picks. But because of coal and rock is discount-inuous medium, using the traditional finite element method for the constitutive modelhas some limitations on coal and rock, it is difficult for coal cutting broken rate sim-ulation.This method uses discrete spring element method combined with finite elementmethod, the coal mining machine for single tooth cutting process simulation. Therefore,the physical properties and mechanical properties of coal and rock, pick coal cuttingprocess, and analyzes the influence of cutting performance factors, that the coal rockbelongs to a discontinuous medium, characteristic of the crushing process with large d-eformation, nonlinear. The discrete spring element (DLSM) is a kind of simulation m-ethod for numerical solution of discontinuous media problem in the field of geotechni-cal engineering in recent years, with the method of construction of coal and rock constitutive model is a new way of thinking. Therefore, this paper adopts discrete springelement method (DLSM) based on the software RockBox3D-MLS tobuild a coal rock constitutive model, and through the uniaxial compression simulationmethod of the coal and rock constitutive model is verified, the stress-strain curve andthe ideal elastic-plastic model of stress and strain curves of based the anastomosis, co-rrectness of the show the model; finite element method, in the environment of the A-NSYS software structure model of tooth is established, and the tooth model unit info-rmation into the RockBox3D-MLS software environment, constructing a "pick-coal-rock " section composite model of cutting process; simulation with RockBox3D-MLS solver,including simulation at different wedge angles and different cutting depth conditions,si-mulation of cutting process of coal rock, the rock breaking rate corresponding conditi-ons, analyzes the influence of different cutting parameters on cutting process for coaland rock breakingrate.The simulation results show that, using the discrete spring element method and t-he finite element method to build the "pick-coal rock" cutting process model, and t-he validity of the shearer single tooth cutting simulation based on this model, the dy-namic modeling and simulation analysis in order to cut coal for Shearer has provide anew ideas.
