With the growing of energy consumption, liquefied natural gas (LNG),whichis easy to transmission for long distance, and a kind of environmental energy, it willbecome more and more important in the world energy group.Developing theindustry natural gas become the world the best choice to improve the environmentand maintain economic sustainable development. LNG storage tank as a kind of safeand stable storage facilities, needs less area but contain large, its application andconstruction are also increasingly. As a new type of industry, however, no matter athome or abroad, there is no special seismic code about the LNG storage tank, andthe study of its seismic performance is still in the preliminary stage. When it meetswith earthquake and has destroy, the LNG storage tank as a kind of large storagestructure, will produce the ecological, cultural disaster and cause huge economiclosses. In our country,LNG storage tanks are beginning to build,so the seismicresponse analysis of it is an essential and crucial thing. This article mainly work has the following four parts(1)First it introduced the engineering background of LNG storage tank, using ANSYS and LS-DYNA finite element software, established160,000m~3largestorage tank model, and it had ring beam and buttress, which can restrain thestructure. It made appropriate unit selection and classification, and introduced thematerial constitutive relation..(2)Secondly it analysed empty cans and filled with liquid level leaked LNGstorage tank of the concrete outer tank’s vibration characteristics, used additionalquality standard for structural modal analysis. Found empty cans of concrete outsidetank’s natural modes is the vibration of the dome, and it earlier sparked out of thering to the wave effect; When the inner pot filled with liquid, flexible liquid and theouter wall will work together, it can significantly reduce tank outside the naturalfrequency of vibration, and the results of numerical analysis was checkded withtheory.(3)Thirdly it selected three natural ground motion records and an artificialseismic wave, which used the acceleration time history method from threedirections to analyse the full containment LNG storage tank. From a large ofcalculate,we find that seismic records of site soil condition、input dimension and theinput angle of level, they all will affect the seismic response of the outer tank.(4)Last it references foreign seismic level requirements for LNG storagetanks, under the condition of OBE(Operating Basis Earthquake) and SSE(SafeShutdown Earthquake) working, using the equivalent inertia force, calculated the LNG concrete outer wall ground about motion. At the same time extractd relevantnode, analyzed their stress and deformation, and compared with the accelerationtime history method’s result, find their changing law is similar.
