The final pit mining boundary determination is the foundation of open pit miningdesign, has a significant impact on investment decision-making, production andoperation of mining enterprises. It determines the mining, rock overburden amount,production capacity, the service life of the main technical indicators, related to themining process and select the development mode of transport. Therefore, reasonable todetermine open-pit mining realm of mine enterprises will gain economic benefits haveimportant role.This paper studied the domestic exposed mine ultimate optimization theory and hassimilar function of mining software application, think our country in the realm ofoptimization theory and applications is relatively weak, penetration is not high, solvepractical problems of mining enterprises mining boundary optimization software is notvery good. Our country is rich in mineral resources, the rapid development of miningindustry in the more boundary optimization theory and application demand, to solvepractical problems is of great significance to the mining industry.This paper from the Sandaozhuang Mo W deposit, referring to the existingopen-pit limit design software, choose to use floating cone algorithm, based ongeological3D solid model of open-pit mining realm optimization design. The maincontents include open pit mine geological entity model, quality block model, boundaryoptimization parameter selection, floating cone method, floating cone method of movingcone initialization and scanning sequence of floating cone method, calculation program,within the boundary of the stripping ratio and the technical parameters. Based on theAutoCAD2008platform, the interface with ObjectARX2008, using C++programminglanguage, combined with SQL Sever2005database, compiled floating cone algorithm inSandaozhuang Mo W deposit. The program design of the final boundary based on existing data mining. In thefoundation of good quality block model, boundary optimization parameters input by theuser, the program running3D graphics, gives the optimal state of rock volume, averagegrade, stripping ratio. Calculation of mining technical economic index according to thequantity of ore and the technical and economic index, state and are produced withSURPAC software were analyzed, the results show that the development of the floatingcone method is feasible in practical application in mines, the result has high accuracy.
