Global climate change might relates with the excess carbon emissions of humanactivities, while the building industry is one of the main sources. The most effectivedecisions related to the low-carbon design of a building can be made in the early designand preconstruction stages. Therefore, it’s meaningful to research of the control andforecast of carbon emissions during the design period. This paper is supported by tutor’sproject of research group, which is one of national scientific and technological plans.Based on LCA theory and LCD method, the paper puts forward the building lifecycle design due to control carbon-emissions. The design process is divided as five parts,they are analyzing the present environment situation, determining the boundaries of thesystem, analyzing the design requirements and countermeasures, optimizing designscheme and environmental impact assessment. Due to the conjunction of life cycle designand BIM, the paper research on the architectural modeling based on BIM.The paper researches on the carbon emissions quantitative prediction of designedbuilding, defining the boundary and inventory of building life cycle carbon emissionssystem, and puts forward the calculation formula; Concluded the carbon emission factor ofenergy, labor, materials, mechanical. This paper also points out the method of forecast thecarbon emissions based on the bill of quantities, and the corresponded comprehensivecarbon emission factor. The data is gotten by BIM.Choosing Daijiashan office building as the study case, the paper uses the life cycledesign method based on BIM to control the carbon emissions. With the analysis of theoutdoor environment, the building itself and the indoor manufacilitis of the building, thepaper puts forward the strategies and the project, and also forecasts the carbon emissionsof the whole life.Research shows that, BIM is based on shared knowledge resource of the building,this characteristic makes it possible to solve the several problems in building life cycledesin, such as establishing a unified information model, integrating computer-aided designand achieving real-time knowledge base and database support. The combination of LCAtheory and BIM method is meaningful in the building life cycle carbon-emissions control design, helps the construction and management department to control thecarbon-emissions effectively, do benefits to achieve the low-carbon construction.
