Gob-side entrydriving can greatly improve the coal’s recovery rate,and save coalresources, it is an important direction of mining construction. Coal pillar’s load、size and thesupport way of roadway is the key factors to determine the success or failure of gob-sideentrydriving. Based on the coal pillar’s load theory and the gob-side entrydriving’s stratabehaviors when using passive support, This thesis pointed out that gob-side entrydrivingshould not leave coal pillar from the perspective of reasonable force,.When it need to remainisolated coal pillar, if adopt the passive support,we can only decrease the size of coal pillar asfar as possible and the roadway is difficult to maintainThis thesis uses the existing theory to analyse bolt support’s reinforcement mechanism tothe narrow coal pillar, points out that the bolt support can improve the coal pillar,’s bearingcapacity and lead to the narrow coal pillar effectively share the mine pressure transfered fromroadway roof. This is the root cause of the stability of roadway. and puts forward boltsupport’s design principle. After a theoretical analyses, expounds the selection method of thecoal pillar’s width when using the bolt support, On the premise of bolt support, there is a peakpoint of abutment pressure both in the coal pillar and entity coal after the roadway isdigging,and proved it using MIDAS/GTS numerical simulation software.Based on theory of homeostasis invisible arch,this thesis design the bolting scheme ofZhu jiahe coal mine14520gob-side entrydriving,and optimalizes the coal pillar’s width bynumerical simulation software,then combining the calculation formula of coal pillar’ size,determined the reasonable width of narrow coal pillar. By analyzing the monitoring result, theisolated coal pillar has played a very good role to protect the roadway,this has a guidingsignificance to gob-side entrydriving in the condition of shallow buried coal seam.
