Recently, the chemist, in worldwide, have made a lot of important and usefulcontribution in crystal engineering by the activity of hydrogen bond as the synthesisof novel materials designed factors. In crystal engineering, a remarkable area issupramolecular chemistry, which has been defined as the understanding ofintermolecular interactions in the context of crystal packing and the application ofsuch understanding in design of new solids with desired physical and chemicalproperties. In the construction of supramolecular materials, discrete molecularbuilding blocks generally extend to high-dimensional supramolecular arrays throughhydrogen-bonding, π···π stacking and weak vander Waals interactions.Hydrogen-bonding is the most familiar organizing force in supramolecularassemblies by virtue of its unique strength and directionality for the control ofshort-range packing.Much effort has been devoted to the design, assemble and properties researchof supramolecules based on hydrogen-bond, for the compounds have noveltopological structure and potential applications in catalysis, magnetism, optics, medicine, photocatalysis and material science, e.g. Hence, we design to build aseries of supramolecular coordination compounds by choosing two different types ofsimple small ligands which possess strong coordination ability, rich coordinationmodels, and transition metal, polyoxometallate for building moieties. The paper contained the following works:Part1: A series of supramolecular compounds on the basis of rigid organicamine ligand have been synthesized through hydrothermal technique and/or watersolution synthesis methods, and their crystal structure, thermogravimety andflorescence properties have been studied. Compounds1to7are constructed bytransition metal(cadmium, cobalt, nickel and copper) and alkaline of triethylenediamine. In addition, we synthesize a new compound based on polyoxometallate.compound1to4display an one-dimensional straight chain via the hydrogenbonding interactions. Compound5possesses a two-dimensional supramolecularsheet, and compounds6to8exhibits three-dimensional supramolecular structure.Parts of them show intensive photoluminescence.Part2: Three new compounds on the basis of Pyridine-carboxylic acid havebeen synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, single crystalX-ray diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction. we chose the Pyridine-4-carboxylicacid as the organic moieties, which possesses the pyridine ring and carboxylic group, and not only act as the H-donor but also as the H-acceptor. We report the first example which is based on Keggin-type polyanions and organic-acid ligands insupramolecular chemistry(compound9). At the same time, the compoundsconstructed from Co(II), Ni(II) with Pyridine-4-carboxylic acid have beensynthetized under the same methods(compounds10and11). Single-crystal X-raydiffraction analysis shows that they all possess3-D supramolecular structure viaintermolecular hydrogen bonds.
