Nowadays,artificial positioning and mechanical cutting processing method hasadopt by many shoe companies to cut the color printing leather. Using thissemi-automatic method, the diversity of products will be limited because of the mould,and the efficiency also be reduced because of the artificial positioning process. Inorder to overcome this problem, a new automatic cutting system for color printingleather has been proposed in this paper. In this system, the cutting motion is guidedby computer vision technology, and the free cutting is realized by laser cuttingmethod.In this paper, this design of the system, which contains overall architecture, imagecollection, processing and the motion controller has been introduced. Firstly, thesystem’s overall framework and module design scheme have been put forwardaccording to the characteristics of the color printing leather processing and theperformance requirements of the needs of the shoemaking companies. Secondly, theimage acquisition, camera control, image processing algorithms as well as the processdesign have been researched in the design of the image acquisition process, themachining path optimization method and information generation process have beendetailed analyst. Thirdly, the double CPU controlled method,which contains PCand motion controller, is adopt in the motion control system. To achieve the outputvolume of the motion control, the control algorithms including speed forwardprocessing, pulse distribution algorithm and two axes linkage algorithm have beenanalyzed. Meanwhile, the motion controller based on ARM Cortex-M3is designed;the hardware and function of each module are analyzed. lastly,the user interface andthe communication protocol of the system are designed.The major works of this paper include the overall architecture design of theautomatic cutting system for color printing leather, the analysis of the workingprocess and used algorithms, which provide a theoretical foundation for later research.Meanwhile, This research aim at the practically production problems, has certainpractical applicable value.
