Design And Development Of Multi-station Automatic Drilling Machine

Round holes and threaded holes are the most common physical characteristics of themechanical parts, they are widely used in machine tools, auto parts, and the production ofdaily necessities, the parts pass rate and assembly between the parts are directly impacted byprocessing dimensional accuracy and geometrical accuracy. It is difficult to guarantee theconsistency of the product, because of low plyability and automation of the devices, thedevices rely mainly on manual work, which has differences between persons, so it becomesincreasingly urgent to develop composite function, high degree of automation devices toreplace the manual work.The functional requirements and technical specifications of the drilling machine areanalyzed on the basis of the hole processing characteristics and production needs, Mechanicalstructure program is designed as circumference cycle structure, the drilling is divided intoseveral functional modules, which contain detailed parts’ structural design and process design,in order to get the design scheme and physical devices of multi-station composite automaticdrilling machine with reasonable structure and perfect function.Drilling machine control system is based on Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)+AC Servo system+Variable-frequency system+Touch Screen. Control system hardwaredesign includes hardware control circuit design of PLC, AC servo system, Variable-frequencysystem and touch screen, power module of control system, and RS485industrial bus serialcommunications network based on Modbus RTU protocol. Control system software designincludes control procedures, monitoring procedures and RS485industrial bus communicationprocedures in PLC, Parameter setting interface, status monitoring interface and16recipestable in touch screen.At present, multi-station composite automatic drilling machine has been molded andpreliminary run debugging, the structural design of the device is reasonable, the controlsystem can accomplish correctly precise movement and composite function.
