The numerical control(NC)technology is a comprehensive technology integrating microelectronics,computers,information processing,automatic detection,automatic control,and other new technologies and characterized by high precision,high efficiency,and automation.NC drilling machine is a kind of mechatronics product utilizing NC technology.Due to its simple operation,high precision and labor saving,NC drilling machine has been widely applied in modern industrial production.Based on the demand of high precision and low cost for drilling machines and the high stability and reliability of CNC equipment,a NC drilling machine is designed according to the requirement of machining precision based on PLC in the study.The design items are summarized below:i.First,the current situation of CNC drilling machines is introduced at home and abroad.Second,the characteristics and existing problems are analyzed based on the current situation.Thirdly,the research purpose and significance of this topic are proposed: a proposed CNC platform is developed in order to prepare for future upgrades.ii.Based on the whole control scheme of drilling machine,the hardware of control system and peripheral devices including electrical cabinet,machine tool bed,water pump,lubrication pump,lighting system,buzzer and other hardware devices are designed.Based on the completed hardware structure of the control system of the drilling machine,the control program and communication ways of the system are designed and arranged to achieve human-machine interaction,autonomous positioning,walking and drilling functions for achieve the objectives of the study mentioned above.iii.In order to further verify the feasibility and significance of simple CNC drilling machine,the designed hardware and software systems of the drilling machine are tested and on-site debugging is completed.The characteristics and functions of the control system are reflected in automatic tool setting,manual machining,under-voltage protection,power-off protection,snap-action snapping,and automatic processing,etc.It is higher than other systems in terms of precision and reliability of the control system were verified through on-site debugging.Furthermore,because of the high reliability and high control of PLC devices,the feasibility of the next project is verified.
