In recent years, the plastic products are increasingly widespread. The structures ofplastic products are more and more complex,with more concave-convex features. Thatlead to the increasing in the number of core-pulling mechanism in mold design,whichprovides designer trouble. The core-pulling mechanism design is important part ininjection mold design.The design quality of core-pulling mechanism has direct effect onthe structure of mold,the quality of products,and the service life of mold. The time ofcore-pulling mechanism design is also accounted for a large part of the total design time ofinjection mold. Its design efficiency will affect the design efficiency of injection molddirectly. The traditional core-pulling mechanism design highly relies on the experience ofdesigners. The results of design should trail and revisal many times,which result in molddesign efficiency is greatly reduced. Therefore, the development of an automation systemof core-pulling mechanism design is great significance to improve the design efficiencyand quality of injection mold design.This article has made a comprehensive analysis of the characteristics of core-pullingmechanism, summarized its species, function, Motion principle, structure designknowledge. Analysis the pros and cons of feature recognition method based on graph andfeature recognition method based on face visibility, choose the method based on facevisibility to recognize the side-features of plastic product. Then use the results toreasoning the position, direction, and some parts size of core-pulling mechanism design.Used the thought of Engineering Database, combined with parametric modelingtechnology, associated technical and the knowledge of design core-pulling mechanism ininjection mold, a standard component library of core-pulling mechanism with ahierarchical structure is created. By a small amount of Human interaction, adjust theparameters, clone and reuse standard components, parameter-driven to achieve anappropriate size of core-pulling mechanism.Based on the above research, a functional and automation systems of core-pullingmechanism design is developed on NX/UG platform, which will quickly design the core-pulling mechanism and improved the efficiency and quality of injection mold design...
