With the continuous development of modern industry, the rapid development ofurban economy and the ceaseless expansion of scale, production and living activities ofman cause the emission of the pollutants of air, which bring about deterioration of manycities’ air quality and have a serious impact on physical and mental health of humanbeings, ecological balance and social development, so that the atmospheric pollution hasbecome the focus of most concern of major cities in China. For the sake of controlling theair pollution effectually, it needs us to make scientific evaluation to urban air quality andresearch the change trend and the main influencing factors. Additionally it can put forwardreasonable proposals and improvements and provide a scientific basis for the urbanplanning administration and treatment of atmospheric pollution. On the basis of the research of assessment and impact factors of air quality bothdomestic and abroad, this dissertation analysis and master the basic concepts, researchcontents and operate mode of the grey system and establish the modified grey clustering, and grey correlation model which applied to the study of atmospheric environment inWuhan. This dissertation analysis the trend of SO2, NO2and PM10during20022011inWuhan city. It carries on the clustering analysis by using the improved grey correlationmodel of normal distribution with four grey classes, in order to air quality during20022011as clustering targets and the average density of SO2,NO2, PM10of every yearas clustering index. The research results show that the annual average density of SO2during20022011in Wuhan city dropped after rising, the annual average density of NO2went up after falling, the annual average density of PM10was gradually declined, the airquality improved gradually overall and met the secondary standard, and the primarypollutant was PM10.This dissertation refines seven categories covering a total of24factors to conductresearch on the basis of consulting relevant literature, combining with the developmentcharacteristics of Wuhan. It selects15major influencing factors as comparative sequenceby means of expert consultation and questionnaire, and then utilizes the improved grey correlation model to undertake correlation analysis by using the annual average of SO2,NO2, PM10during20022011as the reference sequence. Results show that the influencefactors of air quality in Wuhan is mainly concentrated in the proportion of secondaryindustry, the whole urban population, per capita public green areas, industrial SO2emissions, energy consumption, etc. This dissertation puts forward some suggestions toimprove air quality in Wuhan on this basis.
