Digital human mannequin is a simulation human model which describes the physicalcharacteristics in detail in a computer-generated virtual environment. There are two mainmethods of building digital human mannequin: the parametric and the reverse engineering.The parametric one can quickly imitate the serialized and individualized digital humanmannequin by giving different parameter values. The method of reverse engineering, on thebasis of human body from3D scanning data, and through doing a series of operations aboutdenoising, symmetric and hollow dots to human point cloud, can quickly generate digitalhuman mannequin based on users. This paper is going to conduct a research on the digitalhuman mannequin which is in the service of the garment web service.In the research of network services about the garment, not only designers but alsocustomers need digital Human Units during designing, making and buying clothes. At present,due to the inadequate data about the sizes and inches resulted from customers’uncleardescription, garments designed by designers who do the made-to-measure online have to bealered repeatedly. It certainly wastes labor cost, materials and finacial resource; meanwhile,when consumers purchase garments online, they are often not satisfied because they are notable to try clothes on online. Through the interview with from experts and clothes designers,we have drawn the conclusion that whether for designers or consumers, we can construct thedigital human mannequin of web service which can be used for virtual designing and tryingon, in this way we can shorten production cycle, save costs, increase customers’ satisfactorylevel. Therefore, according to the needs of digital human mannequin in clothes networkservice, this paper researches on digital human mannequin based on the parameterized designand reversing engineering, combining with body types’characteristics, designing andtrying-on requests.The research work of this paper includes the following four parts:(1) The survey and analysis on the requirements of network services on clothing and bramannequin. A questionnaire on the demand framework is used in the survey respectively onthe designers and consumers, which is proposed on the basis of interviews with the experts inapparel industry. Application situation and the demand of network services on clothing wereanalyzed,what’s more, application situation and use requirements of digital mannequin,which illustrates the necessity of the research.(2) The parameter extraction of digital mannequin.Parametric modeling of the digital mannequin consists of the human trunk and the limbs modeling. By analyzing features of human’s different parts, from the cervical point to theankle,55characteristic curves and feature points were chosen respectively which weredetermined on these curves.(3) Parameterized modeling of the digital mannequin. The digital mannequin model isbuilt by the feature point, characteristic curve and these points are parameterized by extractedparameters. Using parameters spline curve that passed characteristic points to fit thecharacteristic line, generate body mesh model and parameterized mannequin is constructed.(4) The implement of the digital mannequin based on UG\OPEN GRIP secondarydevelopment. In this paper, measuring the170/90A fitting mannequin size as the default valueof digital mannequin, a digital mannequin is built by using UG secondary development, in theway of points form lines and lines form surfaces. At the same time, program the reverseprocess in digital mannequin by using GRIP language so that3-dimension body scanning datagenerated digitization process mannequin can be achieved.The innovation of this paper is to propose the demand of garment web service ondigitized mannequin and then build a digitized mannequin based on this requirement. Theresults of this paper provides not only designers with digitized online design and tailoreddigital mannequin, but also data support for clothing manufacture and also provides theconsumers chances to buy online. It has a reference value for digitization of three-dimensionalgarment CAD modeling and clothing industry digitalized.
