Porous starch is a new type of adsorption material developed rapidly in recentyears. Due to its wide range of sources of raw materials, simple preparation process,good adsorption properties, safety and environmental protection, the porous starch hasbeen widely used in the production of all aspects of life. At present, the preparationmethods of porous starch are mainly adopted the enzymolysis, its application mainlyfocuses on the microencapsulation of porous starch and the adsorption applications. Inthis study, the corn starch as raw material, using the method of starch enzyme complexenzymatic for preparing porous starch, and the different factors affecting thepreparation of porous starch were studied. In addition, the adsorption applications ofporous starch were investigated.The main results are as follows:Porous starch was prepared by using the complex enzymolysis of glucoamylaseand α-amylase. The influence factors of the preparation of porous starch were alsoinvestigated. Furthermore, the characteristics of porous starch were studied. Theoptimum conditions for preparation of porous starch is pH=6.0, reaction temperature55℃, reaction time was12h, the dosage of enzyme was1.2%, the ratio of1:2enzyme,starch concentration was30%. Oil absorption test showes in the formation of a porous,its absorption rate has been greatly improved, and the bulk density decreases, thedissolution rate increases. Environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM)observation results show that porous starch was formed on the surface of many smallholes, the surface is rough, with larger specific surface area.Nimodipine and ciprofloxacin hydrochloride were adsorbed by the porous starch.The drug concentration was determined by using UV spectrophotometry. The effects oftechnological parameters of porous starch absorption was studied, and the sustainedrelease behavior of drug loaded porous starch was investigated through the releaseexperiment. Experimental results show that the adsorption capacity of porous starch ismuch larger than native starch and porous starch adsorption amount of ciprofloxacingreater than nimodipine.The optimum conditions of porous starch absorption ofnimodipine medication is temperature30℃, time4h, initial drug concentration was30mg/ml, the optimum adsorption conditions of ciprofloxacin hydrochloride wastemperature25℃, time3h, drug concentration of20mg/ml.Release experiments showed that the porous starch has good ability to release, can play a good drug releaseeffect.Metal ions Cd2+are adsorbed by the porous starch. The concentration of Cd2+andthe adsorption capacity of porous starch are determined by using atomic absorptionspectrophotometry. The optimum adsorption conditions is pH7, temperature is30℃,adsorption time is120min, initial concentration of cadmium ion is0.5mg/L. Theexperimental results also show that the porous starch has good adsorption effect onheavy metal ions.
