Crystal glass is a decorative material with a high refractive index, crystal clear, with a metallic finish. Used to make crafts, high-end tableware, jewelry and other. Original formulation containing a large amount of PbO, in order to improve the refractive index and dispersion of the glass, and it has good processing properties. But with the scientific and technological progress and people’s awareness of environmental protection, PbO pollution on human health and the environment more and get people’s attention, the world’s countries have introduced policies to restrict the use of PbO. The purpose of this project is to study of rare earth elements on the optical properties of the crystal glass, trying to find a possible place of crystal glass PbO component. This topic oxide doped with different types of lead oxide instead of lead crystal glass, the Abbe refractometer instrument, to study the impact of the doped oxide glass structure and refractive index, density. Through the above study reached the following results:(1) in the subject R20-Ca0-SiO2system, when W (Bi2O3)≤25%of Bi2O3can not form a network backbone, exists only as a network of the outer body, can provide a non-bridging oxygen of the glass disconnected from the network. Therefore, when the when Bi2O3dosage increase, the density and the refractive index of the glass increases. When the doping amount of25%, the glass density3.6126g/cm3, refractive index1.6164, can reach the level of high-lead crystal glass.(2) in the subject R20-Ca0-SiO2system, when W(ZrO2)≤25%, Zr element to Zr+4the form, fill in the voids of the glass network structure, silicone skeleton connection The degree increases as the doping amount increases, thereby increasing the density and the refractive index of the glass. When W (ZrO2)≥20%, crystallization phenomenon.15%ZrO2, with the optimal value and no devitrification. Comprehensive look at all aspects of B3is a component of the group better. The refractive index of1.5702, reached in lead crystal glass requirements, (3) In the subject R20-Ca0-SiO2system, when W (TiO2)≤25%, Ti02and ZrO2as having a high polarization rate can enhance the degree of the connection of the glass network, thereby improving the glass the density and refractive index. The doping amount to25%crystallization phenomenon. Considering the better glass component of the C5for the group. The refractive index of1.5738, in line with the standards of lead in crystal glass.(4) in the subject R20-Ca0-SiO2system, CeO2smaller dosage can increase the degree of the network structure to connect, to improve the density and refractive index, but over a certain range, it acts as a network modifier. Content of25%, the density of3.0248g.cm-3, a refractive index of1.6127, in line with the standards of high-lead crystal glass.(5) In the subject R20-Ca0-SiO2system, when W (La2O3)≤25%, La2O3Add destruction of the connection degree of Si-O-Si, Ti-O-Si, as network modifier body. Therefore, the density and the refractive index of the glass also increases. When the content is25%, the density of3.1875g.cm-3, a refractive index of1.6248, up to the requirements of the high-lead crystal glass. Comparative D and E of the two groups of data, E5is the optimum composition.
