Sintering is an important process of iron and steel smelting, which can provide sinter with appropriate chemical compositions, a certain strength and reducibility for the blast furnace ironmaking. And, the yield and quality of sinter directly affect the production of blast furnace ironmaking. Because sintering process exists in the problems of large consumption, low utilization and unreasonable energy using, the research of energy consumption of sintering process is significant.For above reasons, and considering that the sintering process is an industrial process, which has complex physical as well as chemical changes and the characteristics of nonlinear, many influencing factors and time lag, two new indexes, namely exergy consumption and coke ratio, are introduced to measure the energy effective utilization and consumption of fuel in sintering process respectively. To get high exergy efficiency, low exergy loss efficiency and low coke ratio, establishing a precise energy consumption model of sintering process is the basis.Firstly, the mechanism of physical and chemical change in the the sintering process is confirmed by analyzing the technology mechanism of sintering process. Then, considering the generation, transition, deliver and dissipation of the energy consumption in the sintering process, the exergy consumption model about income and expenditure is established. And the calculation model of exergy balance, exergy efficiency and exergy loss efficiency is built by combining the exergy analytical method in the sintering process. Finally, the model is validated and the reason of huge exergy losses is analyzed further by using the data of a steel plant.Coke powder is the main heating energy in the sintering process, and its consumption exists in some volatility. The theoretical calculation model of coke rate in the sintering process is studied, which is combined with exergy calculation model to analyze coke rate key parameters. Using gray relational analytical method and quantitative calculation of these parameters about the correlation of sintering coke rate influence, the BP neural network calculation model is proposed, which can not only use in precisely calculating sintering coke rate, but also forecast the ingredients amount of coke power and finished sintering ore product. The study is very meaningful both theoretically and practically.Through above study, some ways in improving the efficiency, reducing exergy losses and dropping sintering coke rate of sintering process are proposed, which provide a feasible direction for energy conservation, consumption reduction and emission reduction.
