Along with social progress and economic development, safety science is also in constant development and perfection. Safety evaluation as an important safety science and technology has become an indispensable key link of safety production and safety management. Safety evaluation method which is the key of safety evaluation work, direct impact the assessment result. For improving the quality of the safety evaluation work, and ensuring the safety in production, it has the important meaning. By analyzing and summarizing the research results about the safety evaluation methods at home and abroad, extension theory was introduced into the field of safety evaluation. This paper presents the extension of safety evaluation method, and gives a safety evaluation model.First of all, on the basic of comprehensive analysis of all the evaluation system information, safety evaluation index system is established, and indicators are normalized processing. With the safety evaluation grades of division, refer to a large number of codes, standards and combined with the actual industrial production, the safety evaluation system is divided into safety, safety secondary, generally safe and unsafe4levels. Secondly, the index weights were calculated using the extension analytic hierarchy process (EAHP). The evaluation objects, joint domain objects and classical field matter-element were build by introducing matter-element extension theory. After calculating the Comprehensive correlative degree of the index, finally the security level of evaluation system was determined. At last, by analyzing the evaluation results, the evaluation conclusion can be concluded, and the corresponding safety measures were put forward.Based on the study of the theory, combined with the local actual situation, a synthetic ammonia plant was evaluated based on extension safety evaluation model. From the man-machine-environment-management point of view, using on-the-spot investigation, questionnaire survey method, the potential safety hazard existing in the system was comprehensive analyzd, and the synthetic ammonia safety evaluation index system is proposed. Combined with index system, and the collected data, synthetic ammonia enterprise is evaluated based on extension safety evaluation model. Based on the application of MATLAB powerful calculation and visualization function, the safety evaluation management system of synthetic ammonia enterprise is developed. The system will enhance the level of safety evaluation and safety management.Evaluation result is consistent with the reality, and security measures were puts forward helping enterprise to carry out safety work. This proved that the established evaluation model was reasonable and feasible. And this provides a new train of thought for enterprise safety management, decision-making, and scientific, reasonable qualitative and quantitative safety assessment maked by safety evaluation institutions.
