In recent years,with the rapid development of China’s chemical industry,the level of independent research & development continues to increase, the domestic new technology, new products, new equipment gradually diversified and complex.Chemical industry production, storage and other processes involves a large number of flammable and explosive, toxic and hazardous substances, hazardous reaction process, safety issues have been accompanied by the development of chemical industry, some world-shocked fire,explosion,toxic spills,resulting in a large number of personnel Casualties, huge property damage and immeasurable environmental damage, promote national governments to pay attention to chemical safety production, and Safety Evaluation of chemical production. Since the 1970s, China began to introduce foreign systems security engineering, Carrying on a large number of research and application. Checklist, fault tree and other safety assessment methods has been widely applied in the chemical industry.Ammonia Synthesis is a complex system engineering. Carring out Safety Evaluation,gives the risk forecast in advance, understands the risk characteristics, estimates the probability of catastrophic accidents in the system and analyzes its accident consequences, judges whether the risk is acceptable, and provides theory for decision making, has important economic and practical significance.Based on the investigation and analysis of the actual application of Safety Evaluation domestic and foreign, this paper compares and analyzes several typical safety evaluation methods at home and abroad, sums up their advantages and disadvantages,and applies them to the Ammonia Synthetic Project Safety Evaluation.In this paper,the basic situation of the Ammonia Synthetic Project in Anhui Liuguo Chemical Co.,Ltd is introduced, including geographical environment, brief process flow,equipment and facilities layout, etc., and further uses the Dow Chemical Company method to divide the production equipment into General layout, Production unit, Storage unit, Auxiliary units and Safety management and other evaluation unit, to analyze the risk one by one. and select the appropriate safety evaluation methods through the analysis of project-based data, processes and other information. The safety evaluation methods used in this paper are safety checklist, fire, explosion, poisoning evaluation model,operating condition risk assessment method, pool fire model.Through identification hazardous and harmful factors in each unit, from physical and chemical properties, risk, of the raw materials, intermediate products or storage of hazardous chemicals, the risk of explosion, fire, poisoning, scald accident, the distribution of harmful factors, the identification of major hazard sources of dangerous chemicals, etc., to obtain the distribution of dangerous and harmful factors. And then using qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze the degree of dangerous, harmful.According to result of qualitative and quantitative analysis, the hazard and harm degree of each unit are obtained. Then based on the existing problems and security risks,propose corrective measures and recommendations.
