Chinese first academic dress system was built in1994, but more and more people in now adays are dissatisfied with it, since the national consciousness and etiquette culture has revival fastly. The article analyzed problems that have been showed in the current chinese academic dress and dress etiquette, and put forward an idealized mode which is designed for chinese academic dress system.The chinese academic dress product family structure model is built based on the modular design theory. The product configuration method includes two parts:firstly, to build a design data base and make it modularized. Secondly, to establish a combination rule of those modulars. Accor ding to these two rules, a detailed research of academic dress both at home and abroad is made, on which, the relevant design elements of academic dress are concluded. With these design elements, constructing the design data base and divide them to different modulars in accordance with the structure of academic dress. It is more important to establish rules and constraint conditions to let the system be more completed. After all of these initial preparations, proposing an application process and method by means of a virtual example. Along with the establishment of design content, application rules and usage of the academic dress product modular, the chinese academic dress system is finished.
