Mass Customization (MC) has been an important manufacture mode in information times. MC Configuration design for products played a very important role in mass customization. Base on traditional configuration design for products, a reusable MC configuration design was put forward. It's design method of better reusable of designed message, highly efficacious of configuration design and excellent quality. The key thought of this paper are on the method of reusable configuration design, product family modeling, the expression of the configuration design knowledge. Based on these technologies, a KDMC-PDM system for reuse artifact design information management has been developed. This research not only has important value in theory, but also gains fine effects in practice.In the first chapter, the paper analyses the origin of Mass Customization and compares the characters between the Mass Customization and other advanced manufacture technologies. The reusable theory and technology have been firstly reviewed, and then the current research situation and problems in different technologies have been analyzed. Finally, the research background, entire content and the significance of this dissertation are discussed.In the second chapter, the relation between MC product configuration and product platform, product family and mass customization is discussed, and a design method of modular product platform is presented. Based on the product platform, a product family is a group of products which share common form features and functions, targeting one or multiple market niches. MC product configuration can be implemented in families by instantiation of reusable configuration model.In the third chapter, the author analyzed the characteristic of MC product configuration design process. Then a reused MC configuration production design came into realization, which based on comparing between the used message and new desire. Base on these, not only can enterprises use message of been used as convenient and quickly as possible, but also fulfill the requirement of client with individuality and economical.In the forth chapter, author researches the similarity of client's requirement, classify the message then convert these into parameter which was used by enterprises.
