Metal corrosion has caused serious economic losses. It is the world’s largest waste. Themost convenient, most effective method of metal corrosion protection is coatinganti-corrosion coatings in metal surface. The water-based anti-corrosion coatings caneffectively restrain the corrosion of metal. It is more secure, not containing or containing asmall amount of solvent and has less VOC emission, lower cost than the solvent-based paint.Therefore, water-based anti-corrosion coating had become the research focus of scholars fromvarious countries in recent years.The water-based epoxy modified phosphorus-containing styrene-acrylic anti-corrosioncoating was synthesized via free copolymerization of BA、St、MAA and phosphate functionalmonomers, epoxy by use of pre-emulsification technology and semi-continuous seedemulsion polymerization. The effects of factors such as the types and dosage of emulsifier, thetypes and dosage of initiator, soft and hard monomer ratio, the functional monomer epoxydosage and the phosphate function monomer dosage on the emulsion and film properties wereinvestigated. The results show that: emulsifier amount of1.5%, the initiator amount of0.45%,epoxy amount of7%, the phosphate function monomer amount of3%, hard and soft monomerratio of2.3:1, can make the emulsion and the paint film have the good overall performance.The film had a high degree of cross-linked, better adhesion and salt water when weight ratioof Epoxy resin and curing agent emulsion was4:1and cured at35℃for7days.The effective waterborne antirust paint was prepared with self-made water-based epoxymodified phosphorus-containing styrene-acrylic emulsion as binder and modified zincphosphate and aluminum tripolyphosphate as antirust pigment. The effects of types anddosage of emulsion, types and dosage of antirust pigment, dosage of pigment volumeconcentration on the paint and film properties were investigated. It was found that whenmodified zinc phosphate and aluminum tripolyphosphate was used as antirust pigment,pulvistalci was used as filler and PVC was30%, the coating has the perfect anti-corrosion, and the comprehensive properties of coating film are the best.
