High density polyethylene(HDPE) unit was one of the important plant in Jilin petrochemical company, however,the pneumatic conveying system of the plant exposed many problems since the beginning of the production, especially when the production load of the HDPE plant reached the design value, the system became the bottleneck of the plant. Based on the theory of the physical strength transport and the actual situation, powder dilute phase pneumatic conveying system PK2205and PK2401were analyzed,and the causes were determined, this article pointed out the problems as follows:1.The feeding ability of the rotary valve wasn’t enough;2.The design of the filter was not proper3.The heat exchanger belongs to exit and entrance of the the breeze machine couldn’t satisfy the design request.To solve these problems, the accordingly reformation methods were proposed:1.Five rotary valve as RF2205、RF2301、RF230、RF2303、RF5101with great transport capacity were used;2.The square of the filter F2201/F2203/F2402were increased;3.The core of heat exchanger E2401/E2203were changed to improve the cool capacity. It turned out the production ability of HDPE plant were increased after the reconstructiontion of the pneumatic conveying system.
