The reasonable use and exploitation of the resource is important for future sustainable development. Nowadays, with the development and improvement of the information technology, more and more resource-based enterprises (such as mining industry) and resource utilization enterprises (such as iron and steel industry) change their production mode to digital.Mining and manufacturing process of them will be supervised and controlled with information technology.On the other hand, in the viewpoint of the supply chain, the communication between mining and steel industry becomes increasingly tight. The two industries can be considered the up step and down step of a complicated process.The coordination of logistics schedules of mining enterprises and iron and steel enterprise has become one of hotspots of the scientific research for the past few years.Costs of products include steel industry raw material costs, production costs and logistics costs of which fifty to seventy percent is the procurement of raw materials and transportation costs. Therefore, unified management and scheduling become a key issue of reducing costs among the mining and steel-making companies.The main concerns of reducing mining cost is the mining sequence plan, while the major consideration of logistics cost is reducing transportation cost.In this paper, mining and steel enterprises can be viewed as the upstream and downstream operating procedures for optimization. The paper mainly deals with the mining and dispatch of transfer equipment in the raw material yard, including the mining sequence design of coal and iron, dispatch of the reclaimers and belt conveyors. The paper mainly has accomplished four parts of work, as follows:(1)Modeling and optimization of mining sequenceIronstone is the main energy resource of our country. They are non-renewable resources and reserves limited. Considering the actual situation of the coal mine, the optimization models and algorithm of coal mining sequence which adapt to the strip mine and underground mine have been established on the principle of science and economy in this paper. Based on the productions technology, the mixed integer linear programming model has been established aiming at maximizing the mining value. The logistics system has been devised and developed which form an information management system of highly centralized.(2) Modeling and optimization of conveyor belt schedulingThe belt conveyor scheduling is the meaning of transporting different raw materials to different destinations during one planning period. It assures that the materials’transmission should be continuous. Based on the productions technology and the management requirements, the mixed integer linear programming model has been established in this paper, aiming at minimizing the transmission time of raw materials’delay cost. The problems are solved by using particle swarm optimization algorithm; on this basis, the characteristics of belt conveyor scheduling have been analyzed and the algorithm has been improved. At last, the experiment of simulate actual situation has been devised. The results show that the effect is notable by using the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm.(3) Modeling and optimization of reclaimer equipment schedulingAccording to the steel raw material yard’s actual situation and reclaimer plans, the program designing and optimization and the decision of stacker reclaimer, the order and the scheduling are based on the premise of the meeting reclaimer time. Based on the management requirements, the mixed integer programming model has been established in this paper, aiming at minimizing the reclaimer cost. The problem is solved by using PSO algorithm, on this basis, the characteristics have been analyzed. Then the problem is solved again by adding the improvement strategies in the algorithm. The results were compared with the CPLEX optimization software. At last, different groups of experiments have been devised. The results show that the quality and performance using the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm are better.(4) The designing of material yard’s logistics optimization systemIn view of the actual situation of steel enterprises’raw material yard, the development of the material yard’s logistics management system not only achieves the information management of the works processes, but also optimizes the main logistics process of raw material yard. The system includes five functional modules: the raw material input management, the transmission equipment management, the inputting configuration of material yard, the inventory optimization management and the raw material output management. The system optimizes the logistics processes of main raw material’s mining sequence, the distribution of raw material’s quay berth, the inputting configuration of raw material, the raw material’s stockpile, the distribution of blended ore, the work of reclaimer and belt conveyor scheduling that achieve satisfactory effects.
