The quality of mold products and the life of the mold itself at the same time aredetermined by the stiffness and strength which occupies a very important position in theinjection mold industry. However, for a long time, the injection mold CAE technology mainlyfocused on the products of the injection molding process simulation and optimization ofprocess parameters.And analysis and research on the the mold stiffness and strength made alittle, stiffness and strength check is still dependent on the subjective experience of thedesigners and a simple formula, which can easily result in a waste of mold material.But moldproduction costs is mainly in the material of the mold itself. Therefore, study the stiffness andstrength of the mold problem is of great significance for reducing the mold material waste,reducing production costs and improving the performance of the products.Nowadays, injection mold stiffness and strength analysis mainly uses a commoncommercial finite element analysis software, but the software features a large,multi-command, complicated operation, and the user’s knowledge of mechanics, finiteelement and engineering experience very high demand. In order to make the mold design andanalysts to quickly and accurately, based on the general-purpose finite element analysissoftware ANSYS Workbench, this article developed a dedicated analysis system for injectionmold stiffness and strength analysis. The content of this study are as follows:(1)This article summarizes the current injection mold CAE technology and simulationsoftware, then discusses in detail the basic principles of the theory of the mechanical stiffnessand strength analysis and calculation of injection mold and injection mold CAE finiteelement.(2)It focuses on the secondary development of ANSYS Workbench technology, theinjection mold of stiffness and strength of the system development environment, functiondesign and the whole development process, and expounds the realization method of the system function. In this process,we developed stiffness and strength for the injectionmold-specific analysis modules, designed a good user interface and friendly man-machineinteractive features,which based on ANSYS Workbench.By using the function of APDLparametric program files and Workbench calling the JScript at the same time, it realizes theautomatic analysis process,solves solves the problem that the mold designers use theinadaptability of general CAE software,analyzes the specific project example, and verifies thefeasibility of the system.(3)Aiming at the process of injection molding in mold cavity stress condition,the paperdiscusses in detail the cavity load mapping algorithm, which lays the foundation for thefurther development of the system in the future.
