Nowadays, China has become the machinery manufacturing country. CNCmachine tools as the mainstay of the development of the machinery manufacturingindustry developed rapidly. However, due to the late start of industrial design,machine manufacturing technology is complex, ineffective machinery industry in thedevelopment of industrial design, lead to the design of the machine do not attachimportance to the aesthetic appearance and ergonomics. The design emphasis onfunctionality and usability. Traditional machine shape of silly, big, black, thick canno longer meet the requirements of the business and operating. Industry design is justthe thing to bring the machine to shape beauty to enhance the style and quality of theproduct. At the same time, user-friendly design and ergonomic analysis can improvethe work efficiency of the operator and quality of design. And then in a large machinetool market competitive environment, improve the competitiveness of China’smachine tool in the international market. The thesis used the design project of HaijieCNC machine as a practical basis to explore the machine design process.This paper started from the research background, machine tool designrequirements analysis, then introduced the whole process of Haijie machine design indetail, starting reviewing domestic and foreign present research of machine tool,analysing the design characteristics of enterprise brand,finally determined the designtrends of this machine tool. Next, our design team established design proposalthrough the procedure of brainstorming, sketching, constructing digital model,renderings and making layout. In the three scheme, the first round of review of thefirst design selected two scheme to deepen; the second round of review proposed theengineering structural problems and added internal colour matching task; the thirdreview determines the final shape of the machine tool design.The practice of project design shows that industry design is a coordination andbalance process of multi-knowledge and different parties views, communication andpresentation skills of the designers for design quality, schedule, and the final resultsplay an important role, any design innovations are teamwork results.
