Salicylaldehyde and hydrazone Schiff base ligands have flexible coordination ability, they can form complicated complexes with transition metal ions by N, O atoms. Thesecomplexes have diverse structures and good biological activity, as a functional material, it iswidely used in pharmaceutical formulations, corrosion inhibitor, catalyst, fluorescent assay. At the same time, because of the uncomplicated synthesis of the complexes, available rawmaterials and high yield, in recent years, it has becoming a hot research topic in coordinationchemistry.Urease can breaks down urea into ammonia, elevates the soil pH, this process can causegreat harm to animals and plants. urease inhibitors can inhibit urease activity and release ureadecomposition. Some of the Schiff base metal complexes can inhibit urease activity, thus it isworth deep-going research. This paper mainly points to four parts:1)10single Schiff base ligands have been synthesized, we obtained3Cu mononuclearcomplexes,5Cu, Zn binuclear complexes and3Cu polynuclear complexes by coordinatingwith transition metal ions, characterized these complexes by X-ray single crystal diffraction,IR spectroscopy, and tested the molar conductivity of the complexes.2)5double Schiff base ligands have been synthesized, we obtained4Cu, Nimononuclear complexes,1Mn binuclear complexes and1Cu polynuclear complexes bycoordinating with transition metal ions, characterized these complexes by X-ray single crystaldiffraction, IR spectroscopy, and tested the molar conductivity of the complexes.3)10hydrazone Schiff base ligands have been synthesized, we obtained9V, Momononuclear complexes and1Mo polynuclear complexes by coordinating with transitionmetal ions, characterized these complexes by X-ray single crystal diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and tested the molar conductivity of the complexes.4) tested and analyzed the part of complexes by Differential Thermal Analysis andinhibiting urease activity, and discussed the synthesis and self-assembly of Schiff basecomplexes.
