By warm extrusion molding experiment, the change of extrusion force, the strengthof the hardness and the quality of surface of parts of M32reinforced connecting sleeve indifferent temperatures were studied, and it was found that among work pieces completedin extrusion under600℃to800℃, those completed when the temperature is at550℃-640℃are the best whether in the surface oxidation degree or in the extrusion force. After compared with standard parts, the connecting sleeves produced by warm extrusionmolding process could meet the requirement, so the production of connecting sleeves withwarm extrusion is feasible.Based on the research of molding process, the basic design principles and methods ofthe mould for multi-station extrusion molding process of the connecting sleeve aresummarized, the structure characteristics and design points of three-station extrusionmould with modular units and applied to intermittent feeding manipulator are put forward, then the extrusion process of connecting sleeve as well as the mould design are completed, and its working principles, features and functions of main components are expounded, sothat the process for mass manufacturing of connecting sleeves are confirmed.According tothe manufacturing process of three-station connecting sleeves and the requirements ofmould, the design of transmission mechanism on the intermittent feeding manipulator ofthe connecting sleeves is completed, numerical design is carried out to the maintransmission parts, and the problems in the process of feeding are solved. Also, otherproblems concerning the external devices in interaction are solved, such as the numericalselection of heating furnace suitable for the feeding frequency of the manipulator, thedesign of feeding device and discharge device, etc.In view of the deficiencies in themethod of traditional warm extrusion stress design such as complicated calculation, failureof intuition in stress reflection, the stress distribution of punch-cum-blanking die appliedin work pieces in the modular mold as well as the stress distribution in the main contactparts and load bearing parts of the manipulator are analyzed according to the basicequations of elasticity and with the finite element software ANSYS. Results show that themaximum stress is in the range of allowable stress. In this paper, the movement type of the three-station intermittent feeding manipulatoris established, the movement laws of sliders in main engine as well as the feedingmanipulator are studied, and the method of sequential design is adopted to plan its movement, so that all parts in the automatic production line can move in coordination withmutual noninterference.
