The Analysis Of Cotton Properties And Spinnability Which Is Producted In Main Cotton-Growing Countries

In recent years, due to the improvement of the trade environment,the orders of textile increased,and the demand of raw cotton increased too,so the cotton quantity of imports increased greatly. Cottons imported from different countries and areas were different in the potential quality due to the difference in location, variety, climate, processing and ginning. In response to the requirements by the mills, by using HVI,we carried out the test on the sample of the cotton which was imported from different countries and areas by the textile mills in Heibei province and the analysis over the quality parameters as well as the feasibility for further process. From the study,we know the SJV cotton of America is the best in fine staple cotton,its grade is2,and the length is about29.0mm,the maturity is0.86,the strength is30.6cN/tex.it is suitable for yarn size of40s to80s.The second is Australian cotton,its grade is2,the length is30.0mm,the micronaire is4.3,and the strength is29.8cN/tex.The Shankar-6of Indian cotton is good to,its grade is about2or3,and the length is30.5mm,the micronaire is4.0,the strength is30.2cN/tex.The cotton of West African is a little yellow,the maturity is good,and each index is suitable for middle or higher yarn.The Pima S-7fiber is the best in long staple cotton,its grade is2,the length is36.2mm,the longest fiber can be38.1mm.The micronaire is3.8,the maturity is0.85,and its strength can reach47.6cN/tex.It is suitable for yarn size of80s and above,even300s.The next is Egyptian cottn,and Sudan cotton is the last.The study served as meaningful reference to the textile mills when it comes to optimize the selection of cotton imported, improve the product quality and reduce the risk involved in the business running based on each individual manufacturing characteristic.
