With the progress of science and technology, mechanical properties, electric properties and flame retardant performance of the laminate have been proposed to higher requirements. Improving the performance of the matrix resin becomes a key factor in developing high performance laminate. Though there are many kind of matrix resin for laminate, but poor heat resistance, and easy burning defects make the study of modified epoxy resin has become the hot spot.A modified resin system with high performance has been obtained by copolymerization of epoxy resin6101,epoxy resin D331,DB resin, DDS and DDM with suitable proportion and prepolymerization.Using the modified resin system as matrix, and the glass fiber as reinforcement, methylbenzene and ethanol as main solvent, the impregnant and half-cured sheet with fine properties are prepared, what’s more,flame retardancy, electrical properties, mechanical properties, thermal stability and other properties such as ratio of water absorption and density based on the modified resin system with flame retardant have been studied. The finest resin system is settled down through experiment and analysis.The results are as follows:system of epoxy resin D331-BMI-DDS-DB has two exothermic peak through DSC analysis, but the second exothermic peak is more significant, mainly curing exothermic interval is between463.4-546.7K, the peak temperature is503.2K, the enthalpy is91.66J/g. The results show that:glass transition temperature of the matrix resin reached181.7℃which means the matrix resin has excellent heat resistance; the gelation time still have342s after120h which means the matrix resin has good storage stability and provides convenience for industrialization. The flame retardant properties of composite laminate made by the resin system reach to FV-0; laminate have good electrical properties, electrical breakdown strength reaches45kV; compared with the E-44-DDM-DB, D331-BMI-DDS-DB has better mechanical properties, normal bending strength reach734MPa,160℃bending temperature holding rate is73%, which made the point that it can be suitable for higher temperature environment. |
