Gathering and transportation of crude oil is continuous production process, which begins from the well field and ends in a long-distance pipeline station or fuel depot. The main sectors of the process include measurement of crude oil, crude oil, three-phase separation of crude oil, dehydration and stability crude oil, sewage treatment and so on. The system of gathering and transportation crude oil has properties of complex process, concentrated pressure vessel and continuity of production. Any problems or operational errors in the running of the system will cause the system malfunction, or even serious accident such as fire and explosion.Therefore, in view of the status quo of China’s system of gathering and transportation crude oil, it is of great significance to analyze the system fault of gathering and transportation crude oil and build a fault diagnosis model for the system of gathering and transportation crude oil. By detailed research to Fanxue oil region of Yanchang Group and accessing to a large number of documents and data, the system of transportation process and key equipments are analysed specially, key equipments of the system of gathering and transportation crude oil were analysed and diagnosed on equipment failure by using the fault analysis and diagnosis methods which combines FMECA with fuzzy fault tree. First, four equipments were implemented with Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis method: three-phase separator, crude oil storage tanks, pipelines, and oil pump. Then fault analysis and diagnosis by fuzzy fault tree method to the four equipments were carried out, including qualitative and quantitative analysis. The four equipments failure mode the failure probability of basic events and fuzzy importance degree.The date were obtained such as the four equipments’failure mode, failure probability and fuzzy importance degree of basic events.Finally, the fault tree of the system was simulated using CAFTA computer-aided system, and obtained the reliability datas of the key equipments in the system in a certain period of time, Which provided recommendations on the stability operation and maintenance for the system.
