The pump unit are widely used in the oil field, what is happening to the sucker-rod pumping system of the oil well can be known through monitoring the parameters of various aspects of oil well at any time. These parameters mainly include the displacement quantity of the oil pumping pole electric current and voltage curve graph, etc. Due to the inconvenience of the traffic at well sites and dispersive location, the labor intensity of maintenance crew in testing and maintaining has to be increased greatly, while the labor efficiency is reduced and the cost of recovering the oil is raised. Therefore real-time transmits the gathering parameter using the RFID for the central processor carries on processing, latter transmits to the base depot is centralized, has the vital practical significance.As a newly developing technology, the wireless radio frequency recognition technology is widely used. This paper introduces some knowledge on the design of embedded system based on the ARM processor. This main realization flow of the system is: the radio-frequency signal source module launches radio-frequency signal, which carries identification information code, and the radio-frequency signal receiving module receives the radio-frequency signal using signal receiving circuit, then sends the signal into the information recognition and processing module whose core is ARM microprocessor. The system uses the high-frequency launcher to send the radio-frequency signal, and magnify the signal by RF circuit for the receiving module receiving it more convenient.This paper put forward an intact plan of design of the wireless monitoring system of pumping unit according to current situation of pumping unit system at home. This scheme used the advanced embedded system as control unit, took the GPRS network as the data communication medium and a fast ARM microcomputer for data gathering and the real-time transmission through RFID for the gathering parameter. It could organically combine computer technique and the communication technique, be suitable for many kinds of wide fields. System implementation put the pumping unit automation to a high degree, and saved cost of oil field.
