Study On The Effects Of Cigarette Materials On Cigarette Quality

Cigarette materials have a great impact on burning of cigarette, and then have a strong effect on chemical compositions of the smoke. So, the cigarette materials including ’three papers and a stick’ have a great effect on cigarette quality. In this study, the physical indicators, smoke index, sensory quality of40cigarette samples were analyzed by selecting five factors, including porosity of the cigarette paper, gram weight of the cigarette paper, porosity of the wrap paper, porosity of the tipping paper and pressure-drop of the filter rod. Under the current ISO standard suction conditions,40kinds of cigarette samples were made of above-mentioned materials, with the same brand, same batch, same machine. The corresponding mathematical regression equation was established as well. The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly, the cigarette paper porosity and its quantification have significant correlation with the whole ventilation rate of Cigarette measured by ISO standard suction conditions of tar, smoke nicotine and CO; And also has a significant correlation with quality. Of which the increase of cigarette paper quantitative measure of tar, smoke nicotine amount, amount of CO has negative effect on cigarette quality.Secondly, porosity of the wrap paper, porosity of the tipping paper have a significant effect on cigarette draw resistance and whole ventilation rate of Cigarette, porosity of the tipping paper has more influence on cigarette draw resistance and whole ventilation rate of Cigarette than porosity of the wrap paper, and it has a significant effect on cigarette quality, porosity of the tipping paper have a higher significant effect on cigarette quality than porosity of the tipping paper.Thirdly, porosity of the wrap paper, porosity of the tipping paper have significant correlation with tar, smoke nicotine and CO, which measured under the ISO standard suction conditions, porosity of the tipping paper has more influence on observed results than porosity of the wrap paper, porosity of the tipping paper have a higher significant effect on cigarette quality than porosity of the tipping paper.Forthly, pressure-drop of the filter rod has significant correlation with tar, smoke nicotine measured under the ISO standard suction conditions and cigarette draw resistance. It has no significant influence on CO, but has significant influence on cigarette quality.
