Cr,Nd:GGG laser ceramic powders were prepared by combustion method using metal nitrates and glycine(mannitol, citric acid) as raw material.The morphology and structure of laser ceramic raw materials were characterized by XRD,TG-DTA,FT-IR,SEM and PFS. XRD、TG-DTA and FT-IR indicated that Cr,Nd:GGG laser ceramic raw materials were obtained at900℃for3h; SEM observation showed that Cr,Nd:GGG powders at900℃sintering temperature was approximate spherical shape; The result of fluorescence spectrum showed that the intensity of the fluorescence has been increased when Cr3+,Nd3mixed in the powders compared with Nd3+mixed in the powders. This phenomenon displayed that energy transfer between Cr3+-Nd3+is available. Cr,Nd:GGG laser ceramic powders were prepared by coprecipitation method using metal nitrates,aqueous and ammonium carbonate.And the morphology and structure of laser ceramic raw materials were also characterized. The optimum preparation conditions are as follows:the calcination is800℃and the heating time is3h.
