Electromagnetic polyurethane was a type of new material with the magnetic functional properties. It may be applied to the fields of storage of information, biological detection and electromagnetic shielding. Compared with inorganic material, electromagnetic polyurethane had many advantages. The experimental attempts to prepare a variety of molecule based magnets and introduce the magnets to the synthesis of polyurethane and observed the electromagnetic properties of the products.First, according to the mechanism of Friedel-Crafts reaction, using H3PO4/C4H6O3and AICl3/C2H3ClO as raw materials, it was prepared that a important ferrocene derivative acetyl-ferrocene in different solvent. The results indicate that the solvent doesn’t impact so much about the yield of the acetylferrocene, and the yield of acetylferrocene is larger with C2H3ClO than the acylating agents.Next, the ferrocene Schiff-base derivatives were synthesized by hydroxylamine hydrochloride, m-phenylenediamine and urea as a primary amine reagent reacted with acetylferrocene respectively. Then, prepare ferrocene molecule based magnets in theory with various ferrocene Schiff alkali and various metal salts for coordination, compare electromagnetic parameters of these different metal salts coordinations. At last, combined the synthesis process of ferrocene Schiff alkali metal complexes and the synthesis process of polyurethane and prepare electromagnetic polyurethane, and tested its electromagnetic parameters, the results showed that there are many excellent places in electromagnetic properties compared to inorganic magnets, and at the same time, the composites have a characteristic of polymer processing that it would have a very broad application prospects.
