The commercialization of polypropylene fibers has begun in the late1950s, the trade name is polypropylene. In the past20years, the development is very rapid, and it has broad prospects in the future development.Polypropylene spinneret is the core component in the production of polypropylene fiber. The spinneret is a key factor to ensure a high precision and high-quality spinning process and the good quality of the finished product. As to Polypropylene spinneret, the most sophisticated part is " micro holes ". The grooved structure of the spinneret micro holes will directly affect the accuracy of molded polypropylene fiber shape, diameter, and physical mechanical properties. Therefore the quality of spinneret micro holes tool is very important to the manufacturers of polypropylene spinneret.Firstly, introduce the existing polypropylene spinning hole features. Starting from the polypropylene spinning hole drilling, make an analysis in small diameter deep hole drilling problems and acting factors, establish the mathematical model of hole deviation and hole size expand. Research and analyze the key factor of hole deviation and hole size expand, provides a theoretical basis and methods to further improve the quality of drilling and op timization of process parameters. The paper describes the development of micro-hole tool at home and abroad, especially the micro-hole tool used in the spinneret, focusing on mak ing a comprehensive, in-depth comparison of the spade drill and twist drill. The study fou nd that the spade drill does not suit for processing of polypropylene spinning hole. Then, use DEFORM-3D software simulate the process. Treat axial force (FZ) and torque (M) as an evaluation index to further verify the superiority of the twist drill in processing of po lypropylene micro holes.Secondly, this paper make an analysis from the geometric parameters of the structure of twist drill on spinning hole machining, make a comprehensive, in-depth research on twi st drill. Firstly, study the twist drill structure, then improve the geometry of the drill.Thr ough the combination of DEFORM-3D software simulation and orthogonal experiment, use the axial force (F) and torque (M) as the evaluation index to optimize the twist drill. On this basis, through the drilling experiment, compare the results of the software simulation and actual process results further optimize the structure of the twist drill. Then analyzed the cutting parameters of twist drill in the spinning process, use MATLAB calculate the c utting function, research the main factors of drilling force and torque in the cutting proces s, provides the theoretical basis for the optimization of the twist drill processing parameter s and also provides a powerful theoretical support.Finally, some experiments were carried out for drill structural parameters and pro cess parameters. Experimental results show that theoretical analysis results and the actual e ffect of processing having a good consistency, and show that have a significant effect on the polypropylene micro-holes machining. It also prove the optimization of the structural p arameters and the process parameters of twist drill can improve the processing quality. Th e study results have been successfully used in the actual production of Jiangxi Dong hua Machinery Co, Ltd.
