The pollution generation coefficient and discharge coefficient of different types of domestic pollution source were determined based on the data that came from the Joint monitoring results by The South China Environmental Science Institution and Hohhot Environmental Monitoring Center. The pollutant discharge characteristics of different pollution sources are analyzed by applying the method of comprehensive pollution index, simultaneously, the pollution generation coefficient and discharge coefficient we got have been compared with the results of the first national pollution census. The main conclusions are as flollows:1. Ammonia nitrogen is the primary pollutants in urban sewage, which about35%in urban residents synthetic pollution index.2. Chemical oxygen consumption is the primary pollutants in hospital, accommodation and bath industry, which about38%in the hospital comprehensive pollution index and40%in the accommodation integrated pollution index. 3. The pollution index is quite high in catering industry. If there is oil separationfacilities, according to the comprehensive pollution index, large-scale<middle-sized<fast food<hot pot. Chemical oxygen consumption is the primary pollutantsin all samples. If there isn’t oil separation facilities, according to the comprehensive pollution index, hot pot.<small-scale<fast food<wheaten food4. According to the comparation of single factor pollution index, it was found that:the order of chemical oxygen consumption pollution index from high to loworder was:catering industry> residential quarter> Government and Institutions> lodging Industry> bath industry> hospital. The order of total phosphorus pollution index from high to low order was:residential quarter> government and Institutions> catering industry> lodging Industry> bath industry> hospital.5. Through comparison with the results which got by South China Environmental Scientific Research Institution, it was found that the coefficients fluctuation of urban residents, accommodation, bath industry are not big. The coefficient of catering industry is higher than the result which got from The South China Environmental Scientific Institution.
