Since the1970s, infrared camouflage materials became one of the key research of stealthtechnology in each country. The substance of infrared camouflage is transforming orweakening the energy band, direction and other characteristics of infrared radiation through avariety of techniques, in order to reduce the difference between the target and the background,so that the enemy can not monitor our military equipment, and probability the target ofidentifying and tracking will be reduced. In the new century, China has invested a lot ofmanpower and money to study infrared camouflage technology. However, the currentdomestic infrared camouflage materials are mainly concentrated in the hard infraredcamouflage coatings, there is not much in the study of soft rubber materials’ coating. Thispaper attempts to study one soft low infrared emissivity rubber material. In this paper, natural rubber latex(NRL) as base material, and the floating Al, aqueous Alas filler, water as a diluent respectively, were prepared into Al/NRL composite material. Theeffects of Al type, particle size, the content of Al on infrared emissivity of NRL wereinvestigated. The floating Al was modified by silane coupling agent KH560or KH570respectively, and the influence of coupling types on dispersibility of Al was researched. Thematerial was characterized with FT-IR, infrared emissivity, microstructure, and the Al wasanalysed by contact angle. The results showed that the lowest infrared emissivity of0.569could be achieved when20%of aqueous Al was added into NRL and it could form a denseinfrared reflective layer in the bottom of the NRL. When the concentration of Al modified byγ-methacryloxy propyl trimethoxyl silane was20%, the lowest emissivity is up to0.635.Natural rubber as binder, floating Al as filler, xylene and tetrahydrofuran as the solventrespectively, were prepared by low infrared emissivity coating. The influence of the type of solvent, concentration of Al, solvent and brushing times on the infrared emissivity of thecoating was researched. The experimental results showed that: in the diluent tetrahydrofuran, the infrared emissivity increased with the solution concentration decreased and the lowestinfrared emissivity of0.43could be achieved when10%of Al with2.5%solutionconcentration, which adhension was1grade. With xylene solvent, the infrared emissivitydecreased with the solution concentration decreasing, and the infrared emissivity of coatingreached a minimum value of0.428when10%of Al with1%solution concentration, andadhension was1grade.
