Research For Countermeasure Of Water Environment And Economic Coordinated Development In Shaoxing

Water environment, which connects closely to economic development, is footing stone of human society. Shaoxing is famous for its water environment, with abundant water resources. Nowadays, water contamination comes with rapid economic development, and became a burden for further development. So, there is a profound and far reaching significance of studying on relationship between water environment and economic development of Shaoxing.This thesis, according to basic principles of economics, basic analytical tools, relevant literature and field surveys, with analyzing the Relationship between per capita GDP and the total amount of wastewater discharge in Shaoxing by Environmental Kuznets Curve among last15years record, defines the shape of the curve. Then, based on theory and empirical analysis, this thesis finds out the reason for the special shape of Shaoxing’s Environmental Kuznets Curve, and also provides a reference for forming environment policy which is helpful to build Shaoxing the Nationally Designated Garden City and model city for Environmental Protection.This thesis includes content as follow:1. Investigating current status of water environment, water pollution and control of Shaoxing, and data analysis of wastewater discharge of Shaoxing in last15years.2. Researching on current economic development and industrial structure of Shaoxing, and investigating the key polluting enterprises.3. Modeling and analyzing the index of environment and economy, by Environmental Kuznets Curve, and provide relative policy advices.This paper studies the following findings:1. Finds out that the Environmental Kuznets Curve of Shaoxing’s total wastewater discharge amount and economic growth shows an N-type, differs from the typical inverted U-type shape.2. Provides relative policy advices for balancing water environment protection and economy growth, on the basis of specific characteristics of Environmental Kuznets Curve of ShaoxingInnovation:Although some scholars already studied on relationship between economic and hydro environment with Environmental Kuznets Curve, certain research about Shaoxing with further environment policy advices is not seen yet. This paper study is advanced and innovative.
