With the development of science and technology, the application of mold is widelyused in manufacture. While the structures of the mold are more and more complicated, thepolishing process of mold has become the bottleneck of promoting the mold productionefficiency. Existing automatic polishing equipments, semi-automatic polishing equipmentscan basically meet the requirements of the polishing processing of the surface of products,but fail to meet the requirements of mold cavity. Ultrasonic polishing technology isexpected to solve the above bottleneck problem, this paper researched on ultrasonicvibration model of abrasive suspension in shaped cavity mold, which is a very importantpart in the research of the new ultrasonic polishing equipment.This research carry out the numerical simulation of the abrasive suspensions in theflow field of the ultrasonic polishing area with the fluid mechanics method, analyze thedistribution of main parameters and the factors influencing particle movement in the flowfield. It provides theoretical guidance for the development of the new ultrasonic polishingmachine.This paper carried out the relevant theoretical research and model simulation, thespecific research work are as follows:1、Establish the mathematical model of the ultrasonic polishing and the theory modelof the abrasive suspensions dynamics;2、Analyze the model of multiphase flow and use the dynamic mesh and customUDF program to realize the tool head ultrasonic vibration in the simulation;3、Simulate the model of abrasive suspensions with the FLUENT software andanalyze the distribution of parameters in the flow field. Meanwhile, inspect the flow fieldin the influence of the factors such as ultrasonic frequency, amplitude and suspensionsviscosity, and then compare with the theory of mathematical model.4、Carry out the simulation analysis on the special shape mold cavity and inspect theuniversality of the new ultrasonic polishing machine in applications. Simulate the suspensions flow field with dynamic mesh model to analyze the velocitydistribution of abrasive particle in the flow field, the distribution of pressure and velocityparameters in the flow field and the movement of abrasive particle in the flow field. Theresult turns out that the sports behavior of the abrasive particle in the flow field belongs tothe Brownian motion and the new polishing machine can polish the inner cavity of themold effectively.
