Green building requires the building in its life cycle to maximize theconservation of resources, protecting the environment and reduc ing pollution, whileproviding people with healthy, utility and efficient using space. The utilization ofsolar energy on the one hand can reduce the conventional energy consumption inbuildings and conserve resources, on the other hand can protect the environment. Theevaluation of solar energy utilization is an important part of renewable energyutilization evaluation in green buildings. How to evaluate renewable energyutilization objective in different situations, considering the differences of resource andbuilding types and climatic conditions, is one of the difficulties to be solved in greenbuilding evaluation. In order to evaluate renewable energy utilization reasonably andobjectively, finding out the method to evaluate solar energy utilization scientifically isvery important.Solar energy utilization belongs to the scope of renewable energy utilizatio n ingreen buildings. The ability of various types of renewable energy to reduceconventional energy consumption and protect the environment is different. This paperbased on grey comprehensive evaluation method, choosing the using cost, the numberof buildings, utilization targets, carbon emission reductions, and other environmentalimpact as related factors, to analyze the weight of solar, biomass, shallow geothermalenergy in renewable energy utilization evaluation of green building.This article believes that the evaluation of solar energy utilization cannot justfocus on the performance of operational phase, but need to evaluate the stages ofdesign and construction. So, the evaluation method is divided into on-site inspectionand performance checks, focusing on how to set evaluation index for performancechecks according to local climate conditions. Firstly, selected relevant indicators asthe partition index of solar energy utilization evaluation and divided31cities intonine solar energy utilization evaluation categories. Secondly, analyzed theperformance of solar collectors and PV modules in various categories and calculatedthe energy gain from unit area of collector (or PV modules). Again, confirmed exergyconsumption per unit area of residential buildings, small and medium-sized publicbuildings and large public buildings of the different climatic zones through theanalysis and processing of statistical data in the existing literature. Finally, accordingto the statistical methods to determine the rate of collector (or PV modules) area andbuilding area, calculated the solar exergy replacement rate indicators for theevaluation of the performance examination of various categories.Results from different evaluation methods of projects’ evaluation show that thenew evaluation method is more demanding than the previous evaluation method andwell distinguish between the merits of the actual effect of the different projects. The paper provides a concrete analysis of refined green building solar energy utilizationevaluation and provides some support to evaluate renewable energy utilizationaccording to local climate conditions.
