The airport multi-function spraying vehicles are mainly used to clear the ice on theroad, kill pests in the lawn and sprinkle water to cool the road in summer. As specialvehicles in the airport service, the multi-function spraying vehicles play an irreplaceablerole. With the continuous development of air transportation, the requirements on theperformance of multi-function spraying vehicles are increasing, so the research into thekey technology of airport multi-function spraying vehicles has great practicalsignificance.Through the comparison of different spraying vehicle models both at home andabroad and based on relevant technical requirements, the paper put forward a generalarrangement plan of the airport multi-function spraying vehicles with the chassis as themain body and the integrated tank assembly, spraying system and control systemprimarily included. First, the chassis, liquid tank and nozzles were designed. Second,the control system based on PLC controller was identified; the hardware of PLCcontroller was designed and the working process of the spraying vehicle was confirmed.Third, the paper determined the spraying volume control system and spraying operativeparts. Based on the above, this paper proposed the key technology program of theairport multi-function spraying vehicles.The paper focused on two aspects of the key technology. The first is to ensure aconstant volume of liquid sprayed per unit area, which would usually change due to thechanging vehicle speed and liquid pump speed, resulting in a waste of spray liquid oruneven spray. In order to establish a closed circuit control system constituted byhydraulic pumps, motors, liquid pumps to controll the spray volume, the paper adoptedPID control algorithm to achieve the real-time control of the spray volume and usedAMESim software to simulate the flow control loop, verifying the feasibility of the flowcontrol loop, which could achieve the constant flow control requirements in thespraying process.The other aspect of the key technology is to improve the operative mechanism ofthe airport multi-function spraying vehicles. The spraying vehicle works with the doubleswing arms which are over6meters stretched out. If the structural design of the swingarm is unreasonable, the serous consequences like bulky structure or broken arms wouldbe inevitably resulted. The operative mechanism of multi-function spraying vehiclesapplied the truss structure as the major structure, whose static analysis and modelanalysis were done with ANSYS, verifying the rationality of the truss design. In the end, the paper made improvement of the truss structure according to its lightweightrequirements.
