The cable supported structure is a kind of efficient prestressed structure. It hasbeen widely used in the field of large-scale public buildings.Based on the present situation of research on unidirectional and bidirectionalcable supported structure and several projects, the mechanical property andtemperature effect of the structure is studied by finite element analysis in this paper.The optimal prestress of the cable is obtained by optimizing analysis; meanwhile,the setting-out form and the initial prestress of truss string structure is got byform-finding and prestress-finding analysis. The advantage of truss string structure isbeen illuminated; Geometrical nonlinearity and joint stiffness are not significant in thestructure after loading, principle of linear superposition can be used in the analysis ofthe structure; The ultimate bearing capacity of the truss string structure consideringgeometrical nonlinearity and material nonlinearity is better than truss structure, andthe ultimate bearing capacity of both structures are not sensitive to structure defects.The modal analysis of truss string structure is done, and the parameter analysis showsthat natural frequency of vibration is sensitive to the load, but no sensitive to prestressand support stiffness; the time-history analysis of the structure under EI-Centro waveis studied, the seismic response of the structure are obtained, and the response issensitive to the edge-restraint condition.The temperature effect of truss string structure and Bidirectional beam stringstructure is not sensitive to geometrical nonlinearity, and principle of linearsuperposition can be used in the analysis of temperature effect of the structure in thecase of temperature raise, but had better not be used in the case of temperature decline;temperature effect of the structure is investigated, and the conclusion about how cabletype and support stiffness affect temperature effect of the structure is obtained. Theinfluence of temperature value on temperature effect of the structure is studied,according the conclusion, the optimal closure temperature of the structure isdetermined. A method called “the control of cable force” that can be used in the caseof structure that isn’t closed under the optimal closure temperature is provided.The influence of shape on temperature effect of beam is studied; the conclusionabout how temperature and construction method affect mechanical property of thebeam string structure is obtained; The influence of temperature value on temperatureeffect of the structure is studied, according the conclusion, the optimal closuretemperature of the structure is determined.
