In recent years, the harbor construction has come towards the offshore; theoffshore wharf faces more complicated marine conditions. The upper structure of theoffshore wharf may be exposed to severe force during a storm surge. Currently theresearches on wave impact focus on the impact on the deck, while the impact on theupper structure of high-pile wharf may be different from the deck due to the beamsystem. Consequently, combined with an actual high-pile wharf, the study has focuson the wave impact on the upper structure of the high-pile wharf especially on thewave force and the dynamic response under it. The detailed researches are below:(1)A3D numerical wave tank has been established with CFD soft Flow3D. Bysimulating the interactions between wave and deck as well as pile, the numericalresults matched well with the lab results and the theoretical result and the wave tankhas been verified.(2)With the established wave tank, a model on the interaction between linearwave and deck which has the same size with the actual wharf’s upper structure wasestablished to analyze the change of wave pressure, the pressure distribution, theuplift wave force on the deck. It shows that the relative clearance(Δh/H) greatlyaffected the wave loads; the wave pressure and uplift force change withΔh/H andreached the maximum value whenΔh/H=0.3.(3)With the established wave tank, a model on the interaction between linearwave and the upper structure of the high-pile wharf was established to analyze thechange with Δh/H of wave pressure, the pressure distribution, the uplift wave forceon the slabs. It shows that the beam system has great effect on the wave load andmakes great differences on wave loads between deck and upper structure of high-pilewharf.(4)With finite element analytical soft Abaqus, a slab model and a whole high-pilewharf have been established individually to analyze the dynamic response under thewave impact load. It shows that the dynamic response under the wave impact loadcannot be ignored; the whole wharf model should be used in the dynamic analysis; thedynamic amplification factor can be extended to1.2in the slab’s dynamic calculation.
