It has become a trend to adopt high pressure common rail technology in dieselengines with the environmental legislation in the engine emission index requirementsincreasingly stringent. But it also puts forward higher requirements in the structuralimprovement of the product, the control of the assembly process and the improvementof the assembly process equipment and information system, etc.This paper has researched the structure, assembly process and MES systemdevelopment of WP6longstroke diesel engine which is independently researched anddeveloped by Weichai and reaches to mass production. The details are as follows:The structural features and assembly test key technical analysis of WP6long-stroke diesel engine.Improve the structure of the Rocker arm: In order to solve the problem of the dryfriction between the Valve and the Rocker arm caused by the slow speed that thelubricating oil from the oil channels to the Rocker arm during the engine have juststarted, we have changed unilateral-hole structure into bilateral-hole structure.Improve the structure of the cylinder head cover and the cylinder head cover gasket inorder to solve the oil leakage problem of the gasket. Improve the secondary balancemechanism in order to solve the problem of the excessive number of adjustablegaskets. Adopt the new leakage detecting techniques of fluorescent agent in dieselengine performance test. Improve intake structure:Change the connection type ofturbocharger and intake pipe from internal to external.Constantly improve the assembly process and equipment in order to improve theassembly accuracy and efficiency. Applicate the Error proofing technology in thedesign, such as design error proofing thrust plate, etc.Applicate the ERP system, especially the BOM changes in the ERP system.Develop and applicate the MES system, especially the composing process of themodule of production technology, the application of the Automatic test system andthe data information stored by the system automatically replaced the paper file cardsof the diesel engine, etc.Through the detailed introduction of WP6engine structure, assemblyrequirement and the study in the above aspects, we can effectively improve assemblyand test quality, reduce the failure rate of the engine and the cost of component replacement and maintenance. At the same time, this project also can lay a goodfoundation for the market popularizing and promoting of other types of engines.
