Because of the complexity of structure and control strategy of high pressure common rail diesel ECU, the development work is very complicated. As to the ECU of high pressure common rail diesel, lots of diesel engine bench tests should be done in traditional way. The high development cost and long period make it difficult to satisfy the need of mark. So, in this paper, hardware-in-loop simulation technology is used to build up a semi-physical simulating platform of common rail diesel engine.After the design scheme of simulating platform is determined, the design of hardware circuit of simulating platform is completed on the basis of TMS320F2812 chip. Hardware circuit mainly includes simulating model circuit of diesel on a real-time basis and relevant control circuit of direct current motor rotational speed, in which, the simulating module circuit on a real-time basis is composed of the DSP module circuit system and relevant interface circuit. In this paper, a physical bench of small direct current motor is established to make the simulation and output of crankshaft speed and cylinder identification signal in better method.In this paper, a dynamic simulating mathematic model of high pressure common rail diesel engine is established by using average value method. On the basis of this model, some main software program of the simulating platform is completed in CCS3.3 condition, in which, the real-time calculation program of diesel engine model acts as a central role. Further more, a PC monitor system of simulating platform is developed by using LabVIEW software. In this monitor system, some data is exchanged with DSP by means of CAN Bus, not only can it acquire and display the calculation result of simulating model, but also complete the online modification of the model of diesel engine and control parameter of direct current motor.After experimental verification, the semi-physical simulating platform of common rail diesel engine in this paper can simulate sorts of conditions in laboratory environment. Moreover, it can output crankshaft speed and cylinder identification signal with correct time series and phase. On the monitor interface, the control effect of ECU to diesel engine model can be displayed directly. Favorable online simulating environment can be provided by simulating platform as to realize the calibration and test of ECU.
