Since the beginning of twenty-first Century,the internal combustion engine industry is facing the challenge of two constraints on energy and environmental protection.To improve economy and control the emission has become an important problem for engine industry.Diesel engine works in high compression ratio,air-fuel ratio,high thermal efficiency characteristics,there is a good fuel consumption compared with gasoline engine.The common rail system can change the injection flexible in different engine working conditions.It takes a better emission and fuel consumption.But the price of the common rail system is high,it reduces the competitiveness of the product.To popularize the common rail system,we must reduce the price and improve the performance of the diesel engine.In 2013 Bosch push out new product-the CRS1-16 Economical system.The system has 20% reduce in price with the CRS2-16 systerm which is popular used in the light engine.And the performance will be same level.Changchun FAW Sihuan Engine Manufacturing Co.,Ltd adopts the CRS1-16 system on the CA4D28 engine,with the purpose of a low cost.The author work on the project and reach on the system,study the characteristic of main parts such as pump,common rail,injector,ECU.Then do the calibration on the test bench,optimize the engine performance.At the last finish the emission test on the roller bench.And finish the multiple environment test.All the results show that after changing to the CRS1-16 system,we can get same performance of the engine but a lower cost.The project is successful,the engine is mass production,and the company reduces the cost.
