Water lubricated rubber bearing is lubricated by water instead of mineral oil andmakes good use of composite material in place of costly metal. It has been widely usedfor its advantage of resource-conserving, eco-friendly, simple structure and highperformance. But, some problems such as uneven heating, time-consuming forvulcanizing, low productivity and high labor intensity have long accompanied thevulcanizing molding process of the bearings. As a result, it can hardly achieve thedesired effect in aspects of bearing capacity, operating rate, friction, dimensionalstability and surface roughness.Based on the precision mold for engineering composite material transmissionwhich was invented by Professor Wang Jiaxu, and focused on solving these technicaldifficulties mentioned above, this paper has designed a novel water lubricated rubberbearing precision mold. The paper research is supported by the national natural sciencefunds face project " The innovation design theory and method of large size and highspecific pressure water lubricating bearing system "(project number:50775230). Themain research work is summarized as follows:1. Analyze the development situation of domestic and international mould platevulcanizing device, point out vulcanization forming process problems existed with thetraditional device and compare the relative merits of heating mode and choose heatingtube for mold.2. Analyze the rubber vulcanization forming process theoretically and sum up thevulcanizing properties of the water lubricated rubber bearing, which lay the foundationof mould design.3. By researching the problems in two-flat-heating type used in the traditionalmolding process and combining the practical process, this paper has designed theassembly drawing and critical components of the mould for one size water lubricatedrubber bearing.4. The static analysis and transient temperature field analysis conducted with theANSYS Workbench software for the mold shall be the preliminary evidence forbehavior of heating and auto mold open. And simulate the life of mold and the gap can influent the mold life.5. Do experiment with the mold. This paper has introduced the physical map ofkey parts. The test of using new mould for vulcanizing forming proves the designworks.
