Automatic Mechanical Transmission(AMT) is an important direction of AutomaticTransmission development, as it retaining high transfer efficiency of MechanicalTransmission(MT),its simple structure, low cost and easiness to manufacture. Realizingthe production of AMT, the starting control is a key problem. However the influence offriction coefficient can’t be ignored during starting. This paper focused on analyzing thegeneral law that load,speed and temperature effect on the friction coefficient. And theinfluence of friction coefficient was studied for AMT during repeated starting.①Present the transmission of the basic structure and principles. By the test dataof engine, the steady and dynamic engine model is established. And the properties oftorque-transferring behavior and loading behavior are analyzed.②Factors of clutch control is researched, and key analysis are throttle and speedratio. Study the engagement process, and evaluation indicator is introduced. The modelof vehicle transmission is designed. On this basis, the rule of “fast-slow-fast” ispresented.③Design the controller through controlling the engagement speed. The controlstrategy contained two steps: the first is to judge the driver’s intention, the second is todetermine the engaging speed according to both driver’s intention and rotate speed ofengine and driven disk of clutch. At last, according to the control strategy, this paperdesigned the control law with fuzzy control.④At last, this paper established the simulation model in Matlab/simulink, thesimulation result under different driver intentions show that the control strategy meetsthe requirements of vehicle start-up.⑤The analysis of friction coefficient’s change in clutch is very important forimproving the startup performance. The factors of friction coefficient are load,speedand temperature. So analyze them separately. Conduct repeated starting simulation,analyzing that vehicle starting may fail, even friction plate will be permanentlydamaged due to erosion.
