As a device to improve the living and working environment, air conditioner hasbecome one of the necessities of daily life. However, with the development andpopularization of air conditioner, the energy consumption of air conditioning increasesyear by year, which leads to the electricity load surge. As a result, some areas thatused to have sufficient power supply have to adopt electricity restriction. Therefore,research on energy saving of air conditioner has become one of the key issues.Over the years, the research on the energy-saving of the air conditioner mainlyfocuses on the energy efficiency under the standard conditions, while the research onthe energy consumption and energy efficiency of the air conditioner in the actual useis much less The methods of experiment and the practical survey are mostly adoptedin the research. But these two methods have some limitations. Experiment method isaccurate but not representative. As the number of test machine increases, the workloadincreases. The practical survey bases on subjective feelings which are not accurate.Italso requires cooperation from the respondents, which leads to great workload andmany other uncertain factors. Therefore, it’s an effective way to establish thesimulation model of the power consumption to study various conditions withtechnical feasibility, low cost, short cycle and not influenced by random factors.The present simulations are mainly from internal refrigeration cycle to study themicrocosmic performance of air conditioner. This research in this article is based onthe external macrocosmic performance conditions, combining with the operatingenvironment changes and the habits of different users to simulate the runningcharacteristics and long-term operation energy consumption of air conditioner.The simulation model of air conditioning room and room air conditioner and thecoupling relationship between them are established in this article., Based on thealgorithm and model, the software package for the operation characteristics of airconditioner simulation is developed The modular design is applied in the packageThere exists clear input and output interface between each module. The wholesimulation model of the air conditioner operation characteristics is formed through thelinks between each modules. VB language is used to design visualization interface ofthe simulation software.Based on the whole performance under different working conditions, the energy consumption and energy efficiency of both the constant speed air conditioner and theinverter air conditioner are calculated by the simulation software. The calculations areunder different outdoor air temperature, the glass window shading coefficient, thefloor number, the area and orientation of the room, the energy efficiency grades of theair conditioner, setting temperature and initial temperature. The analysis showsinfluencing factors of the power consumption and energy efficiency ratio underdifferent working conditions, which provides references for the energy conservationand the rational design of the air conditioner.
