Performance comprehensive evaluation of water supply network can provide atheoretical basis for the updating and optimization of pipeline network, and it is afar-reaching and challenging issue. In this paper, on the basis of comprehensive studyof the pipeline network running status, a quantitative performance evaluation systemof water supply network was developed.First of all, on the basis of summarizing the existing experience and results, through the comparative analysis of evaluation methods, comprehensive evaluationsystem for the performance of water supply network was put forward combined withthe actual situation, with the static structure evaluation as precondition, combinationof hydraulic vulnerability and water quality vulnerability as dynamic evaluation.Second, the pipeline level evaluation system was proposed based on theBayesian theory. The seven evaluation impact factors of pipe age, diameter, internaland external lining was determined through three screening process; priori probabilityof indicator parameters was determined based on the results of previous studies, thenthe posterior probability of model parameters was solved combined with the actualoperation of pipeline data, and the model was corrected through the results; indicatorsstate was divided into three levels: running well, needed to detect and maintenanceupdates. Level evaluation of water supply pipes was made combined with the indexweight through Bayesian formula to solve classification probability evaluation. Onthis basis, combined with reliability analysis and evaluation of pump station and valvecomponents, the static structure of water supply network evaluation was achieved.Again, vulnerability evaluation system on hydraulic and water quality of thewater supply network was put forward to examine the ability to withstand hydraulicconditions change outside. Water level, degrees of freedom, flow, water pressure andresidual chlorine, water age was selected as index for hydraulic and water qualityvulnerability evaluation, and the system vulnerability rating was finished byidentifying indicators grading standards and solving vulnerability index value of pipenetwork. Finally, the performance evaluation system was applied to the water supplynetwork in a development zone of north China. The proposed approach provided ascientific basis to achieve the scientific management of network and to protect the security of water supply.
