The deteriorating air quality, global warming and the shortage of oil resources has becomethe main threat to human existence. More and more stringent emission limits and fuelconsumption regulations motivate the development of more energy efficient and greenercars.This paper is based on the IVECO4×2Diesel-Electric HEV Project which is funded byNanjing Science&Technology Development Fund and SAIC Commercial Vehicle TechnologyCenter (the Research Institute of Nanjing Automobile Corporation),and studies the theory andtechnology of the diesel-electric HEV powertrain control system.The study results have Theoryreference significance and engineering application valuefor the research and developmentof diesel-electric HEV.On the basis of Iveco A42models, the structure arrangement plan of the diesel-electric HEVpowertrain is designed.According to the vehicle power index, the type of main reducer、motorand battery is selected.The overall control scheme of the diesel-electric HEV powertrain’s operating mode and Theoverall ideas of is designed.The control strategy,logic threshold control and power auxiliarytorque control based on SOC,is built.The mode selection and torque distribution of hybridoperating mode are achieved.The simulation model of vehicle control strategy is built in theMatlab/simulinkThe control system of diesel-electric hybrid electric vehicle’s powertrain,including thewiring harness, electrical safety system and vehicle CAN network system,is designed. Thevehicle controller hardware is developed.The powertrain test bench is set up.With the rapid prototyping tools dsPACE/MicroAutobox,each subsystem components and the vehicle control strategy is tested and optimized. Prototypereal vehicle test is done, test results show that the powertrain control system is goodcoordination,The phased goals and requirements of project’s research and development areachieved.
